My experience with CarPlay

It's been more than two months now since I got my new car (a Seat Ibiza Fr 2015). I still remember the day like it just happened yesterday. I remember every thought that was going through my had and I remember my immense excitement. Obviously I was excited, it was my first brand new car! When my car finally parked in front of me I started to test it's high tec - equipment (Keep in mind that I never had such an advanced car before!). One of the first things I tested, when I had driven quiet a distance with my car, was Full Link. I know every car manufacturer calls it differently, but Seat called it Full Link, which allows me to pair my iPhone via USB - Connection with my car and enable CarPlay on it. I was so excited to try it out and see if Apples car solution could help me in my driving routine and replace my navigation device. Things didn't start off all to great when I had pairing problems for some odd reason. When I decided to reboot my iPhone it finally worked. I had that same kind of problems about three or four times after that, But since I left the USB - cable plugged in even when the iPhone isn't connected the problem has only happened once (but I think there I screwed up xD). Once it worked though it is like a dream come true for drivers that want to listen to their playlists and call someone etc. without being severely distracted! Siri Dictation functions almost flawlessly and the way that the music section is designed and sectioned looks and feels fresh, but is recognisable at the same time. Every time I drive somewhere, I tell Siri to start my playlist and listen to it while controlling it over the steering wheel (which means without looking away from the road). The navigation kind of disappointed me at first, because when I was listening to music I wasn't able to hear Siris commands (which means I had to look at the screen and that is a really bad idea when did regularly while driving)! But since the newest iOS update (iOS 9.3) the sound mixing has been drastically improved while navigating. Finally I am able to hear what Siri is saying! :D Calling someone is as easy as it gets and works perfectly. Texting can be sometimes difficult when you are in a rush or on a highway, because Siri might misunderstand you, so you have to speak a little louder and slower for it to work properly. I have to be honest with you guys. I wouldn't want to drive again without CarPlay! It is the best integration of an iPhone into a car that you will get and it is made in such a non distracting way that you can keep your eyes on the road an have a save journey! And having a save driving experience is the most important thing you should care about right?
